I have got to update this thing more often

Well, it's been a while since I've done anything with this blog and I thought I'd do a quick update. I've been knitting but nothing for Ball and Joint Dolls of late. I've been concentrating more on my writing than on my knitting and design work. I've also been knitting items for people and recently I've been asked to do up little dog jackets for winters. Not that winters where I live are cold but when you're the size of a chihuahua, it gets cold. We have a lot of those little dogs in my area. Some of them are even smaller than my cat, Munchkin.

Welcome to Big Fat Mama's Knotty Knits

Yes, my knitted doll clothing "business" now has a name! Thanks to my friend Mercy, we've come up with Big Fat Mama's Knotty Knits. I think I like that.

More pictures will become available once I get them in. I have made a number of new hats to be showcased, but I have to get the pictures for them done off so I can post them.

And yes, I do commissions.

Another Outfit for SD Dollfies - Quidditch sweater and hat

This is another outfit I have made for the SD Super Dollfie - male or female. This is an original design and a full outfit includes a hat, scarf (not shown) and sweater worked in high quality acrylic yarn. The sweater alone is US $45 and the hat and scarf combo are US $40. Since these are original designs the price is higher than if I used an existing pattern straight up. The entire set together is US $75. This particular outfit sold, but I will be making others in each of the four house colours.

The photos were done by Mercy and the doll modelling the outift is Dylan. He is a classic Slytherin, but has agreed to model this outfit in Gryffindor colours for me. See, not all Slytherins are bad. ;)

I've decided what to do with this Blogger: Dollfie outfits

Yup, this is a good place to advertise and showcase my Dollfie knitted outfits. This particular outfit was made for an SD Dollfie. This is my friend Mercy's Dollfie, Eve, wearing an outfit I handmade. The dress is adapted from an existing pattern (there were several large errors in the pattern I used and I corrected them which changed the shaping of the outfit) and the stole and purse are my own design. I liked how it turned out. Both photos are by Mercy.

I do sell my outfits and will do custom ones as well. I'm just getting started and using the summer to build up stock for the Fall season.I have to admit that my outfits are not exactly cheap, but knitting takes some time to do and I use excellent quality yarns, wools and threads and some of my outfits are my own design or highly adapted designs for other types of dolls made to fit the Dollfie proportions.

Knitting is very zen for me. I also do human accessories - hats, scarves, gloves, etc. for sale. I'm currently working on some scarves based on the Harry Potter series. The are all hand knit and hand sewn, no machine knitting or sewing whatsoever. I've decided not to do larger items at the moment, mainly because I have several on the go already for family and myself that I'd like to get done first.

Mercy has told me I need to put my prices up. This particular outfit sells for USD$50.
